On April 13 I was able to participate in the 1st Annual Book Fest sponsored by Laurel College Center in Laurel, Maryland. We 12 authors were a diverse group, not only in ethnic heritage but in age. Our genres ran the gamut from crime novels, to horror to romance to poetry and non-fiction. Each author had an opportunity to read from one of their stories and (most importantly) — we were fed! I mean… we  had an opportunity to meet and greet and sign our books. In my case, since my book was online, I got to help people download the FREE Monday Morning Movie Meeting cookbook and sign up for my newsletter. I also read the opening to my latest short story, Dance With Me, which was a Kinsman’s Quarterly Iridescence Award semi-finalist.

The event was well organized by Jessica Brynarsky and her staff. I’m definitely looking forward to participating in their next event.
