I had the pleasure of speaking to Donna Wecker who, with her husband Dan, is the co-owner of the Elkridge Furnace Inn in Maryland. This is the venue of various tea events including the Bridgeton Spring Tea that I attended in May.

This excerpt from the upcoming book Ebony Images describes the film poster for the movie The Birth of a Race. African American filmmaker Emmett J. Scott's dream was to show the triumphs of his community. However, by the time it reached theaters, his vision had been systematically undermined.
